Medical Answering Service

Inbound call centers can be set up to provide Medical Answering services for a doctor’s office or a medical center.

Kaiser Permanente is an example of an HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) that has call centers at central locations in the cities where they have many facilities.  All patient calls are routed through the call center where nurses and other medical personnel can talk to patients.  Then they can refer the patient to the appropriate office or doctor if necessary.

The same is true for ambulance services or paramedic units for hospitals or HMOs.  They are on-call and ready to answer any emergency when contacted by the central call center where incoming patient calls originate.

Another advantage of a call center for medical answering services is that the patient has just one telephone number to remember, which handles many medical services.
